Celebrating Ownership Together
Woodsman's annual All-Hands ESOP Breakfast brought employee-owners together to celebrate ownership, recognize milestones, and look toward the future.
One of the things that makes Woodsman Kitchens & Floors different is something most customers never see.
We are 100% employee-owned.
That means the people designing kitchens, fabricating countertops, scheduling projects, answering phones, and serving customers aren't just employees. They're owners.
Each year, we take time to celebrate that distinction by bringing everyone together for our Annual All-Hands ESOP Breakfast.
This year's event was a morning filled with connection, recognition, and a reminder of what employee ownership truly means.
Bringing Everyone Together
Throughout the year, our team works across departments, job sites, showrooms, fabrication facilities, and offices throughout Northeast Florida.
The All-Hands Breakfast is one of the few opportunities each year for everyone to gather in one place.
It gives us the chance to reconnect with coworkers, celebrate accomplishments, and recognize the role each employee-owner plays in the company's success.
As Woodsman continues to grow, these moments become even more important.
They remind us that while our jobs may be different, we're all working toward the same goal.
Veteran Jacksonville sports broadcaster Brian Sexton shares a message on leadership, teamwork, and ownership during Woodsman's Annual ESOP Breakfast. A great reminder that when every employee has a stake in the company's success, we're all working toward the same goal.
Learning from a Jacksonville Voice
This year's breakfast featured a special guest speaker, veteran Jacksonville sports broadcaster Brian Sexton.
For decades, Brian has been a familiar voice in Jacksonville sports, sharing stories, insights, and experiences with audiences throughout the region.
His perspective on teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and community resonated strongly with our employee-owners.
Just like successful teams rely on every player contributing to the outcome, employee ownership works best when everyone understands the impact of their role and the value they bring to the organization.
Recognizing Ownership
A highlight of the morning was the distribution of employee-owner statements.
For employee-owned companies, these statements represent much more than numbers on a page.
They provide a tangible connection between the work employees do every day and the value being created for the future.
Employee ownership creates a unique mindset.
When employee-owners make decisions, solve problems, serve customers, and support one another, they are helping build something they personally have a stake in.
That shared investment helps create a culture of accountability, pride, and long-term thinking.
Celebrating Milestones
The breakfast also included recognition for vested employee-owners, who received commemorative enamel pins acknowledging this important milestone.
Becoming vested represents a meaningful step in the employee ownership journey and reflects years of dedication and contribution to the company.
These moments serve as reminders that employee ownership is not simply a business structure. It is a long-term commitment shared by the entire organization.
A Few Extras Along the Way
Of course, no celebration would be complete without a few surprises.
Employee-owners received Woodsman hats and notebooks, enjoyed breakfast together, and participated in a raffle featuring a variety of prizes.
While the giveaways were fun, the real value of the morning came from spending time together and celebrating what makes Woodsman unique.
Proudly Local
One of the themes that emerged throughout the event was our connection to Northeast Florida.
We're not a national chain.
We're not a company managed from somewhere else.
We're local.
The people sitting in that room are the same people serving homeowners throughout Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine, Yulee, Fernandina Beach, and communities across Northeast Florida.
They're our neighbors.
They're raising families here.
They're investing in the same communities where they work.
That local connection is part of what makes employee ownership so meaningful.
Looking Ahead
Events like the All-Hands ESOP Breakfast are an opportunity to reflect on where we've been, celebrate where we are, and look ahead to what's next.
Since becoming 100% employee-owned, Woodsman has continued building on a foundation established more than 40 years ago.
The future of the company now rests in the hands of the people who help make it successful every day.
And that's something worth celebrating.
More Than a Workplace
Employee ownership changes the way people think about their work.
It creates a culture where success is shared, accountability matters, and everyone has a reason to care deeply about the outcome.
Our Annual All-Hands ESOP Breakfast is a reminder of that commitment and of the people who make it possible.
We're proud to be employee-owned.
And we're even more proud of the employee-owners who make Woodsman what it is today.
