Our Favorite Quartz Pairings with Wood Tones
When it comes to designing a space that feels both crafted and elevated, few combinations are as timeless (or as eye-catching) as warm wood cabinetry paired with statement quartz countertops. Whether you’re planning a kitchen, bar, or custom built-in, choosing the right pairing is what makes a project feel complete.
Here are two of our favorite wood + quartz combos from recent installs:
Bar Setup: Umber-Stained Alder + Cambria Clovelly
For this cozy, elevated bar area, we started with Shiloh’s Malibu Reeded door style in Umber on Alder. The vertical reeded detail adds texture and rhythm to the cabinetry, while the umber stain brings a deep, rich tone that feels grounded and timeless.
We paired it with Cambria’s Clovelly quartz in an eased edge profile, a creamy base with elegant veining in gold, taupe, and charcoal. The soft movement in the quartz complements the linear detail in the doors without competing for attention. It’s warm, dramatic, and perfectly tailored for a sophisticated bar setup.
Why we love it:
This pairing feels high-end without being fussy. The warm undertones in both the alder and the quartz create a cohesive look that’s ideal for entertaining spaces.
Home Office Setup: Cherry with Sahara Finish + Viatera Calacatta Oro
Built-in desks and shelving deserve just as much design attention as kitchens, and this next combo proves it.
For the cabinetry, we used Diamond Distinction in Cherry with a Sahara finish. The result is a smooth, golden stain that brings out the subtle grain of the cherry while keeping the overall palette light and inviting.
To balance the warmth of the wood, we selected Viatera’s Calacatta Oro quartz with an eased edge profile. This quartz design mimics classic Calacatta marble with bold, warm veining on a bright, creamy background. It gives the workspace just the right amount of visual interest without feeling too busy.
Why we love it:
It’s the perfect blend of function and elegance, earthy cabinetry meets high-end stone, making a beautiful backdrop for productivity and focus.
Tips for Mixing Quartz and Wood Tones:
Warm with warm: If your wood has red or gold undertones (like cherry, alder, or walnut), look for quartz with subtle gold or taupe veining to keep things cohesive.
Mind the finish: A matte or satin cabinet finish tends to pair beautifully with both polished and matte quartz.
Let one element lead: If your cabinetry has bold texture (like a reeded door), opt for a softer quartz pattern to balance it out, and vice versa.
