Let’s Talk Flooring
Let’s talk about the foundation of every great room, literally. Flooring is one of the biggest surface areas in your home, and it impacts everything from comfort and durability to the overall style of a space.
Whether you’re building new, remodeling your kitchen, or just tired of your old carpet, flooring plays a major role in how your home looks and feels. At Woodsman Kitchens & Floors, we’ve helped homeowners across Northeast Florida find flooring that fits their lifestyle, and we’re here to help you do the same.
Here’s what to keep in mind when making your pick.
Start With Your Lifestyle
Your flooring needs to match how you actually live.
Busy households with kids or pets? You’ll want something scratch-resistant and easy to clean, like luxury vinyl plank (LVP).
Do you love the warmth and beauty of real wood? Hardwood floors bring character and resale value but require a little more care.
Prefer something soft and quiet underfoot? Area rugs or even carpet in bedrooms can create a cozy feel.
Knowing your day-to-day needs is the first step in narrowing things down.
Luxury Vinyl Plank: The MVP of Versatility
It’s no surprise LVP continues to dominate the flooring market. Why? Because it gives you the look of wood with way less maintenance.
Water-resistant and durable
Great for kitchens, baths, and laundry rooms
Easy to install and clean
Modern LVP comes in styles that are nearly indistinguishable from hardwood, and it’s available in all the trending finishes: white oak, warm walnut, weathered gray, and more.
If you want beauty and performance at a friendly price point, LVP is hard to beat.
Hardwood Floors: A Classic for a Reason
There’s nothing quite like the charm of real wood floors. Whether you go with solid or engineered hardwood, the warmth and richness of wood adds value and depth to any room.
Great for living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways
Can be refinished multiple times (depending on thickness)
Higher investment, but long-term payoff
We carry a curated selection of hardwood flooring in shades and species that align with today’s design trends, including lighter tones like white oak and timeless deeper browns.
Just keep in mind that wood floors need a little extra TLC in Florida’s humidity or in high-traffic zones.
Tile? We Don’t Offer It Retail Anymore, Here’s Why
In the past, we carried tile flooring options, but today, we’ve narrowed our focus to what we do best: beautiful, durable LVP and hardwood that our clients love.
If you’re looking for tile for your walls or backsplashes, we may still incorporate those as part of a larger remodel, but we don’t sell tile as a stand-alone product anymore. We made this decision to streamline our offerings and focus on flooring that balances style, function, and simplicity for our clients.
Things to Ask Yourself Before Choosing Flooring:
What kind of traffic does this room get?
Do I want something soft or hard underfoot?
Will it need to resist water, spills, or pet messes?
What’s my design style, classic, modern, coastal?
What kind of upkeep am I willing to commit to?
Once you’ve got your answers, you’re in a great place to narrow down options with your designer.
