Coastal Kitchen & Bar Remodel in Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville Beach, Florida | 2024

This bright and refined oceanfront condominium remodel was designed for clients who are passionate gourmet cooks and frequent entertainers. Located directly on the coast in Jacksonville Beach, the renovation focused on maximizing functionality, storage, and entertaining flow while maintaining a timeless coastal aesthetic that complements the expansive ocean views.

The kitchen features a coastal inset cabinet design painted in a crisp Arctic White, creating a light and airy feel throughout the space. The layout was thoughtfully planned to accommodate high-end, built-in appliances, including a Sub-Zero refrigerator, gas cooktop with a fully vented hood, double ovens, microwave, and a built-in espresso machine. Every appliance was integrated seamlessly to maintain clean sightlines and a furniture-style appearance.

The island serves as both a functional work zone and a gathering space. To increase storage without compromising circulation, we incorporated 18-inch-deep cabinetry on the back side of the island. The island base was wrapped with a custom furniture-style toe kick and finished with decorative end panels, reinforcing the bespoke, furniture-inspired design. A 14-inch countertop overhang provides comfortable seating for bar stools, making the island ideal for casual meals and entertaining.

Storage and organization were a key priority. For cooking efficiency, we added dual spice pull-outs flanking the cooktop, a cutlery tray insert in the sink drawer, and a roll-out waste cabinet discreetly located at the end of the island. These features ensure that everything needed for cooking and entertaining is easily accessible and intuitively placed.

Storage Designed for Entertaining

The homeowners are passionate about cooking, so smart storage was a must. Our team incorporated:

  • 18-inch deep cabinetry on the back of the island for extra space

  • A cutlery tray insert by the sink

  • Spice pull-outs on either side of the cooktop

  • A roll-out waste cabinet at the end of the island

  • A 14-inch overhang for bar seating

  • Decorative panels and a furniture base to ground the island with style

Every element was designed to make everyday cooking and entertaining more enjoyable.

Adjacent to the kitchen, the wet bar was designed as a dedicated entertaining hub with uninterrupted ocean views. It includes an open cabinet for bottle storage with an integrated stemware holder beneath, a built-in beverage refrigerator and ice maker, a bar sink, and a base pantry pull-out for bar tools and accessories. This area provides a perfect transition between kitchen and living space, allowing the homeowners to host effortlessly while enjoying the coastal setting.
